Before we start discussing about Wicca, it’s important to note that the practice of it or any other religion is not concerned about what someone believes it is more concerned about how someone upholds those beliefs. The set of beliefs that many witches believes to be true is called Wicca while witchcraft is the name referring to the collection of practices which means that it’s not only used by wiccans, it can also be used by other non – wiccans. The term wicca and witch are usually used interchangeably but there are people who call themselves “witches” but doesn’t necessarily mean that they are wiccans. Again it goes back to the point that witchcraft is something that can be practiced by anyone including non – wiccans, or those of other religion. It’s basically just another form of means that can be used by almost any kind of spiritual practice including those in the cults. Wicca is a tool for empowerment and it is also a key belief. It helps those who are practicing it makes great changes in the world whereas witchcraft helps them exercise their beliefs.

Wiccan Beliefs

The most basic Wiccan belief is in the Wiccan Read. There are various witchcraft techniques that violate the Wiccan Read which means that there are witches out there who believe in cursing or doing wicked things to harm others spiritually or perhaps emotionally. It is contrary to the Wiccan Read that’s all about not harming anyone or anything which is why real Wiccans will not use witchcraft practices even if it exists.  The Wiccan Read is perhaps the main differentiating factor between a true Wiccan and a witch of another kind. You see, there’s no magical bonus or some sort of magical perk that is awarded to Wiccans to those who may have been initiated to other people.

When it comes to the difference between a Wiccan witch and other kinds of witches is that the former has sworn an oath before a deity or there covens as this basically re – affirms their desire to harm none. The Wiccan Read is a statement of morality and how one should live their life; it’s kind of like the Ten Commandments of the Christian religion. If the Wiccans sworn to harm none in front of a deity that leads us to the question of where are the orthodox witches? Well, it lies on the beliefs and practices; if a witch is an orthodox type and not a Wiccan, they could have the exact same beliefs, modes of conduct and attitude as other people within their community so you can expect them to have strict ideologies with regards to what is and isn’t acceptable behavior, and uniform beliefs which in extreme cases may result to mob mentality or injustice which we still see today.

Orthopraxy communities refer to general correctness of action which really has nothing to do with beliefs which is why it’s only about the way to do things. It’s evident for instance if a particular community celebrates a holiday on the same day and in very similar ways / rituals especially when they’re seeking healing, protection and other cultural similarities. Some of the members may have personal names that they only use in their practice while some have entirely separate private deities or the ones that the rest of the coven uses. You may see Wiccans do both of these things which is normal. There are also some covens that don’t have any specific deities and they only refer to it as the god and goddess, the Lord and Lady or sometimes they are not given names.

Wiccan witches are orthopraxy and not orthodox. Most covens are orthopraxy; the Gardeneraism is perhaps the most orthopraxy that one can get because they have an initiation system that prevents anyone who doesn’t know the exact form of witchcraft so that it will maintain the integrity of their magical practices. Keep in mind that everyone still has their own individual preferences and differences; private personal beliefs are permitted in most covens.

Lineages

Oftentimes Wicca is referred to as a pagan religion but more recently more and more people are considering it as a religion on its own and that’s probably because Wicca has different sects just like Judaism and Christianity which we can call lineages or traditions. These terms are usually used interchangeably. The same lineage usually has a lot of individual covens within it. They are considered as covens of religious and spiritual family which is people coming together to unify their practices, perform magic together, worship a deity and support each other as a community.

The open – minded lineage doesn’t really fit into any categories because it’s technically not Wiccan; it’s more of an eclectic Wicca because they allow members from any religion with any title that is quite unique from other covens with lineages that exists right now. They basically add on to the degrees that other people already have in other religions or something that they gained in their own time like if they do self initiations or whatnot. The ideas that were organized around the fact that members don’t want or may not want to conform to certain beliefs or practices to some standard but they still want to be in a community and can’t seem to find one that does not make them conform.

Keep in mind that orthopraxy is more of an adherence to a standard but that standard can be defined by anyone which is why if you’re holding yourself accountable or you want to stick to your own tradition and you probably feel satisfied with your own practices then one can consider themselves as an orthopraxy especially if you don’t really fit into a coven.

Bottom-line is that Wicca is a religion with certain beliefs which are shared by anyone who claim the title of being a Wiccan. There are witches playing pagan but their beliefs are not at all close to the Wiccan standard and there’s also the real Wiccans who are solitary practitioners that has their own practices, beliefs and variations in tradition.

Some people believe that Wicca is a creation of Gerald Gardner; a British born in the 1900s; who claim to put the religion together and be one of Wicca’s founders in the 20th century. The truth of the matter is that he did not and he blatantly ripped off the likes of Aleister Crowley; Celtic lore, Freemasonry and Egyptian ideologies.

A Pagan Religion

Usually, Wicca is referred to as a pagan religion but more recently more; and more people are considering it as a religion on its own and that’s probably because Wicca has different sects just like Judaism and Christianity which we can call lineages or traditions. The same lineage usually has a lot of individual covens within it. They are considered as covens of religious and spiritual family which is people coming together to unify their practices; perform magic together, worship a deity and support each other as a community.

It’s more of an eclectic Wicca because they allow members from any religion with any title that is quite unique from other covens with lineages that exists right now. They basically add on to the degrees that other people already have in other religions or something that they gained in their own time like if they do self initiations or whatnot. Keep in mind that orthopraxy is more of an adherence; to a standard but that standard can be defined by anyone which is why if you’re holding yourself accountable or you want to stick to your own tradition.

Wicca Founder and Influencer: Aleister Crowley and Anton Lavey

Some Wiccans particularly those who were followers of Gerald Gardner haughtily dismiss Aleister Crowly and even Anton Lavey; who were actually one of the Wicca’s founders and have had major contributions to the world of magic; was deemed as raving lunatics. They scornfully rejected the philosophies, ideologies and teaching of aforementioned Wicca’s founders as idiotic ramblings of madmen. The truth is that they cannot justifiably point out that the founder of Wicca was no more insane than Lavey or Crowley; being that Gardner made various claims about himself and how he knows the origins of the religion.

It only means that the entire belief system was based on Crowley and not from Gardner.

Nomadic Pursuits

Thousands of nomadic pursuits have prepared all of us for this day so that we can all live in such profound awareness of divinity and express ourselves to every experience, action, and thought. The values include compassion, respect, and happiness among others. So just imagine what the world will be like as these values become more and more central in the people’s everyday interactions. The Wiccan religion can help and teach an individual to use one’s innate miraculous powers as co – creators of the world; and the universe. It brings one to a development of deep spiritual practice of respect and love that Wiccans have for our planet not only for one’s physical bodies but also for the expression of the goddess.

Lady God and Goddess

For instance, Mother Earth gives birth to the plants in order to sustain life in general. She also gives birth to the plants and trees which allow living things like animals and humans to breathe; and in order to do such things, Mother Earth uses the energy of the sun. Just as a male animal gives its seed to the female; the sun uses its energy to fertilize Mother Earth so that she may give birth. Wiccans honor both the male and female aspects of the divine because it takes 2 aspects of energy to create life; it’s a loving union of the Lord and Lady or the God and Goddess which gives birth to all that is.

Mission of Wiccan Spirituality

If you watch the process of nature, it occurs in cycles; seasons change, crops grow and harvested, people are born, reproduced, die; and eventually are born again in a never – ending cycle. The natural cycle of life is somewhat similar to our spiritual selves which means our spirit also undergo through a cycle. The mission of Wiccan spirituality and Wiccans is to bring all of these into the world. Wiccans are part of a group of people much like midwives that will bring the planet into a rebirth but in a much more spiritual sense and way of living.

Gerald Gardner

That being said, it’s better for new Wiccans especially those who are interested in following “Wicca’s founders” Gerald Gardner to really go back to where your religion has originated; books authored by Gardner like High Magic’s Aid – which is also something that closely resembles Margaret Murray’s book; The Key of Solomon and Witchcraft Today – is where Gardner’s ideas came from to write his own book; The Book of Shadows that according to him include details of secret practices and beliefs.

One of the most important symbols in the Wicca religion that are also widely used in other religions and the new age movement is the Pentagram and also the Pentacle. The pentagram is just a five – point star whereas the pentacle is also the same five – point star but the difference is that it is encased in a circle. The circle represents the divine power of the almighty because it has no beginning and end.

Symbolism

The irony is that these symbols have been used in almost all religion in every culture around the world ever since. Any culture that has a form of mathematical prowess has came up with these symbols including cultures that have been separated and have never communicated with each other, that far back in both archaeology and history. The pentagram and the pentacle is often found in cultures and religions that have been totally isolated from the rest of the world so these symbols says a lot, and clearly has an important meaning in every religion or culture.

Some of the symbolism of the pentagram which most people know is that it represents the human body standing with their arms and legs relatively stretched out; the pentagram represent the head, arms and legs that makes five – points if plotted. The modern Wiccan religion as well as other magical practice believes that each point of the pentagram also represents the five elements which are earth, air, fire, spirit and water.

Five – Pointed Star

Since the dawn of humanity, the five – pointed star has been a symbol of guidance and casting light upon dark mysteries as well as revealing knowledge and power. It’s also a symbol of protection. For instance, there are many countries and also states that use the star to represent their symbol of protection. Take the United States of America; each state is represented by stars in the flag. If you see it this symbol being used with a group of people like the police force or military, it represent that they are the protector of people. In addition to that it also has various meanings especially in the field of religion or spirituality.

The Pentagram Meaning in Wicca

The pentagram also symbolizes spirituality over materialism; the point on the top represents the point of spirit (God, humanity, nature). The other points in the star represent the four elements as mentioned earlier. The earth is green, the water is blue, the air is yellow, and the fire is red. When you turn the pentagram upside down it usually represents the grounding of spirit or otherwise known as materialism over the spiritual world. The second degree is the service to the elements as well as the physical world.

Pentacle Symbol

The correct way to use a pentagram is when the point is facing upwards.  The pentagram is also known to some people as the star of Solomon. In the Christina religion, Solomon was the king in the Old Testament who asked God to grant him the knowledge so that he will know what other people really desire in their hearts.

The pentagram and pentacle symbol can be used upon any altar or any magical purpose.

Natural Position

You may see many Wiccans wearing a pentacle ring; the correct way to wear it is to have the point facing upwards to the sky when a person stands in the natural position. If you wear it on both hands, it could indicate that you are in control of everything that comes your way. If the ring is worn on the right hand facing in the opposite direction that usually means that emotions will shoot out or something as a projective force of the body while the left side is seen as the receptive force of the body but it has the same indication as with the right hand but the power won’t be that strong.

These religions look at the Pentagram and the Pentacle as some form of evil without knowing the history of these symbols. Both these symbols have been used by the Protestants, Catholics, Israelites and the Jews; the Jews and the Israelites use the pentagram to represent the five books of Moses. With Christians they use it as the five limbs of Jesus Christ – the two legs and arms as well as the sphere in the chest which also represents the five wounds of Christ. The irony on top of the irony is that witch hunters used the pentagram and the pentacle symbol to protect themselves. The very symbol that witches often use as their main symbol much like how Catholics use the cross use the pentagram as a form of protection. This idea though has fallen away and most Protestants have forgotten about it which then begs to their testimony that they may not know what they’re talking about because not a lot of people knew its history.

Magic Ceremony

You can see churches that date back to the 1500s and 1600s that has the pentagram on the building. An important thing to know is that there is a secret meaning of the pentagram, and not a lot of people know about it and have never made the connection. The secret is that the pentagram is the blueprint of magic ceremony. People often see the star or the pentacle as a human being with its arms and limbs stretched out. So basically, it represents an individual and when most people cast a spell, they cast a circle and then they stand in the center; the pentagram encased in the circle which then creates a pentacle. So what do people do after standing in the center of the pentagram in most rituals? They invoke the five elements – the spirit is the deity within the circle before proceeding to calling the four corners which is the north, south, east and west.

This article will give you information about the meaning behind Wicca spirituality. Wicca spirituality started as a synthesisof the life – loving practice of the Wicca religion. It’s also the transformative and quite liberating practices that came from the east. When this concept began, the founders have no idea that they were already sort of creating a new school of Wicca. It’s probably not their intention to do it but it evolved and served that way. For a long time, founders wondered if the concept of Wiccan spirituality is at all possible because it felt like they were chasing the spiritual grand unification theory. They often just wonder about finding a way to bridge the two traditions which in many ways is diametrically opposed. Fortunately, the goddess kept them on track and according to them the goddess kept feeding them hints that not only it was possible but also it’s something that’s very important for the transition that the planet is going through right now. This is what we now know as Wicca spirituality.

Wicca is more than a religion; it is also a way to spiritual enlightenment and even “endarkenment.” Wicca spirituality is about healing and something that helps an individual connect to the divine as it will help them empower others and themselves to be all that they can be especially when it comes to reaching their greatest spiritual potential. It’s also a path to enlightenment that reveres life in general.

What is Wicca Spirituality and Spiritual Connection?

Wicca spirituality is speaking to people and to their growing awareness. It’s a religion that serves one’s spiritual connection with the Earth, with the divine within and above, and also with the goddess. It’s also something that celebrates the holiness and miracle of daily life. As our planet goes through the shift and continuously evolved, it’s no longer necessary to isolate oneself to some remote mountaintops just to be enlightened, or even to go to churches or ashrams to live a spiritual kind of life and to be connected to the divine. You see, spiritual life is all of life this is why we can also say that all of life is spiritual. Enlightenment is within reach of every person. As a matter of fact, not only we can live and find our deepest spiritual callings through our everyday lives. One must do it for the sake of the planet. Thousands of nomadic pursuits have prepared all of us for this day so that we can all live in such profound awareness of divinity and express ourselves to every experience, action, and thought. It is sort of an “earth – based enlightenment” – this is what most Wiccans today believe that can truly save our planet. It’s all part of the values of the goddess who was being reborn through one’s spiritual development, and through one’s spiritual practice. The values include compassion, respect, and happiness among others. So just imagine what the world will be like as these values become more and more central in the people’s everyday interactions.

The spirituality of the Wiccan religion can help and teach an individual to use one’s innate miraculous powers as co – creators of the world, and the universe. It brings one to a development of deep spiritual practice of respect and love that Wiccans have for our planet not only for one’s physical bodies but also for the expression of the goddess. It also brings the recognition that each of us is inextricably interconnected with all that is. For instance, Mother Earth gives birth to the plants in order to sustain life in general. She also gives birth to the plants and trees which allow living things like animals and humans to breathe, and in order to do such things, Mother Earth uses the energy of the sun. Just as a male animal gives its seed to the female, the sun uses its energy to fertilize Mother Earth so that she may give birth. Wiccans honor both the male and female aspects of the divine because it takes 2 aspects of energy to create life – it’s a loving union of the Lord and Lady or the God and Goddess which gives birth to all that is.

In Christianity, God is deemed as someone who is separate from the world that He created and according to Christians, God dwells in the realms of heaven but in Wiccan religion, God is the world – all that is, is simply a part of the energy the divine. Such energy can’t be created or destroyed but is only transformed from one form to another. If you watch the process of nature, it occurs in cycles; seasons change, crops grow and harvested, people are born, reproduced, die and eventually are born again in a never – ending cycle. The natural cycle of life is somewhat similar to our spiritual selves which means our spirit also undergo through a cycle. For Wiccans, when people die we are reincarnated in some form since energy is never created nor destroyed but only changed.

The mission of Wiccan spirituality and Wiccans is to bring all of these into the world. Wiccans are part of a group of people much like midwives that will bring the planet into a rebirth but in a much more spiritual sense and way of living.

The Wiccan spirituality is further enhanced through each person; for others knowing that it is making such a positive impact to more and more people out there is what keep the Wiccans going especially despite all the daily challenges that come with the work. It’s such a blessing for them that more and more people are becoming enlightened through the help of the Wiccan religion and spirituality. It is part of their gift and service to the goddess and it’s also an honor to them to guide other people especially in a world that’s struggling to free itself from history’s bonds and to also lead others to a much brighter future – these are the essence of Wiccan spirituality. We hope that this article serves you well in discovering your own path of spiritual evolution.

There are many religions in the world; Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Taosim, Hinduism, and Buddhism just to name a few but what if I told you there’s a religion that exists today which advocates bringing no harm to one another, caring for one another in the world in which we live and respects all living things – this is what wicca is all about. Sounds like it can be a part of any religion isn’t it? It’s not weird or scary at all despite what most people say or the pre – conceive notions they have about it. This article will provide you with an introduction to wicca.

Introduction to Wicca a religion that strives to harm none and also honors nature. As a matter of fact, wicca follows a simple code of morality called the Wiccan Read. The Wiccan Read states that one can do whatever one wants as long as it doesn’t bring any harm to anyone or anything. Most people choose to say it in a much easier way, like a mission statement: “And it harm none, do what you will.”

In fact it is believed that any actions that harm someone or something will come back as karma rather quickly and three times over which is why the introduction to Wicca is a great advice or motto to follow.  The Wiccan Read reminds everyone to take responsibility for their actions and to do some thinking before acting or doing anything. This is because the Wiccan religion introduced the idea that we are all connected which means what helps one, helps us all but what harms one, harms us all – that’s simply what witchcraft is all about. Below are some Wiccan myths that have been passed on from one generation to the next but are actually false.

Brief Introduction to Wicca and the Myths

Wiccan is also synonymous to witchcraft which is why many people have misconceptions especially when someone brings up the word “witch” it’s not usually link with the Wiccan religion but more of the word wicked or evil perhaps because of the image of the Wicked Witch of the West. For other people the topic of witchcraft involves ideas about orgies, blood, animal sacrifices, curse, devil etc. so to clarify all of these misconceptions, the Wicca religion doesn’t believe in harming others and also in hexing or cursing people and even casting spells to make someone fall in love with you or whatnot. This religion is all about enjoying the gift of life and letting other humans enjoy that gift as well. The Wicca religion also doesn’t believe in animal sacrifices since it has that believe that all life is sacred.

Some people think that Wiccans worship the devil, this is simply not true. The idea of Satan as a concept originated from Christianity and it’s also found somewhere in Satanism. This only means that Wicca does not believe in Satan, and because of that it only implies that the religion doesn’t believe in the concept of hell. It’s simply a new version of an old religion that pre – dates Christianity.

Another misconception that people have is that Wicca allows wild sex orgies. Here’s the thing, wiccans believe that the human body is nothing to be ashamed of and that sex is a sacred and beautiful thing. And because it is sacred, wiccans are actually less likely to have indiscriminant sexual intercourse. They are also less likely to abuse their bodies with drugs, alcohol or something similar because they simply believe that the body is sacred. The concept of “Sex, Drugs and Rock n’ Roll” happen all over the world regardless of an individual’s religion or lack thereof. You see, religion isn’t an excuse to party so I hope that’s all clear now.

Wicca is also not a cult despite of what most people think and that is because a cult will try to recruit as many members as possible or even torture/ brainwash them. Most cults think that their way is the only right way. As with the Wicca religion, the members don’t actively seek other members to join them because it’s all about new members finding them and not the other way around. Most importantly, this religion doesn’t believe that there is only one right or true path for every individual. For them, everyone must find their own way. This means that Wicca is not right for everybody just as everybody is not right for this religion. Wicca celebrates freedom where a cult desires control.

When it comes to tools, Wiccans use a five – pointed star which is also commonly known as the pentagram. This is symbolic of the five elements; air, earth, water, fire and spirit. The wiccans honor the four physical elements that help create the world as well as the spirit that binds them all together. It’s simply just a symbol of the Wiccan faith just as the Christian faith uses the cross as a symbol. Wiccans also wear a triple goddess symbol – it is a circle with a waxing and crescent moon shape on both sides.

Some people ask, what about casting spells or magic? What about it? It’s just similar to praying to God or doing all the rituals that other religions do. If you have a friend or family member who is sick and say you pray over them, it’s the same as “casting a spell” but maybe a good spell if you pray that they get better. Keep in mind that spells are only elaborate prayer, but a prayer nonetheless.

The only difference is that wiccans put more effort into their prayers, so instead of just saying something like “Dear God, (fill in the blanks either a petition or thanksgiving etc.) or whatever it is you want to pray for, Wiccans make it a somewhat special event. When they pray, they may dance, chant, and sing, drum or anything else as they visualize the end result of whatever it is they want to happen. Spell casting is just a different way of praying.

When it comes to believing in the afterlife, wiccans believe that in death all of us become alive again. It’s like in order for the lion to live, the sheep dies. When the former dies, it will provide nutrients to the grass that will allow other sheep to live. For wiccans, life and death are interrelated which is why in death everything/ everyone become alive again. We hope that this article shed a light on all the misconceptions out there and gave you a glimpse and introduction to wicca religion.

Old world witchcraft believes their ancestors don’t separate their daily lives from magic. It’s more than just a practice; it’s a way of living a comfortable life. Those who practice witchcraft look at the world by understanding the collaboration and co-existence between the physical and spiritual realm. Witches are always in tune with themselves, in alignment with nature, and with the powerful witch within.

What is an Old World Witchcraft

This way, witches who are practicing old world witchcraft belief system honors all-encompassing lifestyle of witches. Becoming a witch emphasizes the sacred relationship with your inner witch. You tap these qualities by harnessing the forces of nature. It’s a road to self-discovery that will establish connection to the powerful witch inside you. You have within you, an inner witch capable of transforming each and every aspect of your life in about any way you please. Effective spell-casting becomes second nature, as well as making potions.

This also includes getting rid of the unattainable and complicated misconceptions if witchcraft, the occult, and magic. They know the ways to alter their life’s circumstances and prosper as the free master of their own experiences.

Spell-work and rituals are types of creations. Both are ways of manifesting the invisible and the conceivable into real-life verifiable shapes and forms, through perfectly natural ways.

What Makes Old World Witchcraft Different from Wiccan Tradition

Wiccan is a young pagan religion, whereas witchcraft is a spiritual practice with its roots dating all the way back to the beginning of man. There may be lack of information about witchcraft practice past Middle Ages, but archaeological evidences suggests mankind have been honoring gods and goddesses, local and land spirits, and their ancestors through cave writings over 30,000 years ago.

Unlike what most people think, old world witchcraft doesn’t teach wishful thinking, or teach people the ways to be happy and wait for things to fall into their laps. It’s not a new age religion. Many traditional witches don’t even believe in Karma and Dogma, judgment or even the Wiccan Rede.

Old world witchcraft is more about believing in yourself and how one can make peace with the outside world, starting from within. They promote loving and appreciating one’s self, as it’s the best way to experience the world differently, and fully.

Old world witchcraft believes in making their rules and following that inner voice within. They believe in the ultimate free will and of course – magic, which is their way of developing and empowering one’s self.

Old world witchcraft is definitely NOT a guide book on how one should be a witch and live life. Again, it is for people who make their own rules; for people who follow their inner witch within, and not requiring permission from anyone.

The Witches of Old World Witchcraft

These witches of old world witchcraft put energetic principles into physical work, allowing witches to achieve all the things they desire, through the help of natural magic of ancestors. It’s for people looking for an alternative change in their lives. They teach how not to be afraid of the “forbidden”, as they celebrate the ‘forbidden’ as a way of declaring independence and embracing the free inquiry spirit.

The tradition of Wicca is drawn from the Old Traditions of Witchcraft; however, though Wicca and Witchcraft are similar in so many ways, they are NOT the same. A person can be a witch without practicing Wiccan, just as one can be a Christian, and NOT a Baptist. Witchcraft has many forms, while Wicca itself is recognized as a religion. In this regard, we should look at Wiccan as a modern religion, which is based on the ancient tradition of Witchcraft.

Understanding Wicca

Contrary to what most people thought, Wicca doesn’t promote evil practices. Wiccans live by their code “as long as you are not harming anyone, do as you wish.”

Wicca is about feeling the warmth of the sunrise and the calmness of the sunset. The gentle caress of the summer breeze on your skin, a meadow illuminated by the light of the sun, the glowing full moon, the fall of colorful leaves in autumn and the softness of snow. To become a Wiccan witch is to become a giver, a seeker, a healer, a teacher, and a protector of all things. It is about walking the path of light, honor and integrity.

The Wiccan religion’s belief system is based on pre-Christian’s traditions that originated in Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Wiccan religion traces its belief system all the way back to the Paleolithic era, where people worshipped Hunter gods and Fertility goddesses. Thus, Witchcraft, where Wicca traces its history, is one of the oldest belief systems in the world, predating Christianity for around 28,000 years.

The misinformation unfortunately turned into fear of superstition, resulting to harassments and persecutions of people found or suspected to practicing Witchcraft.

What Witchcraft is

Witchcraft, as with most traditions, is a spiritual system. It preaches acceptance of responsibility of actions and deeds. If one causes harm to others, they should blame no one but himself, and should face the consequences. No ifs and buts.

Witchcraft acknowledges the cycle of nature, the phases of the moon and worship of the divine. It allows witches to work with the deities to live in harmony and balance of all things, NOT in supplication with them.

Spell-casting involves love, healing, creativity, harmony, and wisdom. Understanding witchcraft includes knowing the natural remedies available around.

What Witchcraft is Not

Witchcraft is NOT a cult. They don’t convince people to follow their path and see them as leaders by proclaiming to be the spokespersons for the divine.

Witchcraft is NOT about worshiping Satan or consorting demons. People should know that Satan is a creation of Christianity. They choose NOT to do wrong out of fear of eternal damnation, but because it’s the right thing to do.

Witchcraft is NOT about harnessing the powers of nature and casting spells or hex on others.

In the Middle Ages, Christians originally don’t believe in witches, neither can they cause serious harm. It took years for the church to recognize their existence, and when they did, they looked at witchcraft as blasphemy. Then they started idea of ‘witch hunt’, in which they persecuted people they believed or suspected as witches. Suspected witches were burned or hung in public. But where there really real witches? We will try to answer this question as briefly as possible, and we certainly have no desire to stir unhealthy curiosity in the occult.

Is Witchcraft Real?

The short answer to this question is, yes, Witchcraft is REAL.

The most widely-known witchcraft-based religion (at least in the western world) is Wicca, and it was officially recognized by the United States in early 90s. However, witchcraft comes in many different forms and types of witchcraft. Some of those who practice call themselves witches, and even among them, there are different types of witches.

Some of the common religions that relates to witchcraft include: Ceremonial Magick, Chaos Magician, Discordian, Earth Religion, Neo-Pagan, Norse, Pagan, Reconstructionist, Santeria, Tameran, Voodoo, Witta, and many more.

In the past, witchcraft is more associated with harnessing ‘supernatural powers’, and they made a bad rep for practicing black magic. This makes sorcery, magic and witchcraft somewhat synonymous.

Do Spells Really Work?

Yes, but it doesn’t work the way most people think or wish to work. Casting a spell is not some sort of using a “magic pill” that instantly takes all your problems away and gives you all the things you desire. Our general perception of spell-casting is so skewed, thanks to Harry Potter.

In general, magic in our world truly exist, just not in the fantastic-movies kind of way. As said earlier, there are many cultures, religions, ideas and schools of thoughts that prefer magical practices. The same goes to spell-casting.

Spell is viewed by witches as an art form through invoking the supernatural using ceremonies, spells, rituals, charms, etc. Spell-casting is about manipulating energy to bring out the desired result.

Is Witchcraft Dangerous?

Yes and No. Witchcraft and magic are undeniably dangerous. However, so is crossing the street, driving, swimming in the ocean, etc. Anything can be dangerous.

What you should know, and what should many people need to know is that, Witchcraft is NOT synonymous to Satanism. Though some witches worship Satan, NOT all witches believe in evil, Satan or even hell. Satan is a creation of Christian deity. Thus, witchcraft belief systems that don’t adhere with Christianity don’t believe in demons. Rather, their deities are’ immanent’, meaning they’re present within each human, making each person a deity.

The Wiccan religion for example, doesn’t accept the existence of good or evil. Rather, they see them as forces that need to be balanced. Evil is an important part of good, and it can be transformed into something positive.

Modern witches today rejects the existence of absolute truth and supports neo-tolerance. They advocate matriarchy, women’s rights, sexual freedom, and even abortion. Also, some Wiccans observe Wiccan holidays such as Winter Solstice, Halloween, etc.

Contrary to what many people believe, becoming a witch doesn’t necessarily need spells. Yes you read it right; you don’t need specific spells to become a witch. There’s no magic spell that will automatically turn you into a witch, rather, you become a witch through performing witchcraft.

Rather than looking for particular spells to transform yourself into a witch, all you need to do is to practice even the easiest of spells. It’s like this – we learn to cook by knowing what recipe to cook, either from someone we know, through cook book, or articles online or in magazines. The same goes with witchcraft. Life however, is far from Harry Potter movies, and much like being a good cook, you need to put in time and effort to learn more about your craft and practice on a regular basis.

What Makes One Person a Witch?

Casting spells has its roots from Wiccan religion. But actually, you don’t have to be a Wiccan to become a witch. Wiccans may practice witchcraft and can cast spells. But the Wiccan religion is embedded through the idea of spiritual beliefs. And you don’t need to have these beliefs in order to cast spells yourself.

So, how many spells do you need to know and be able to perform before you can call yourself a witch? Well, there’s no definite answer for that question. After all, you don’t require someone to know a certain number of food and recipes before he can be called a cook. The better question is: “how effective are your spells?” If you’re good with your spells, then you can definitely call yourself a witch.

Of course, this goes without saying that you have to be truthful in answering the question. If you simply delude yourself into thinking that your spells are really effective, but know that things even without your spell, then you can’t consider that as a success.

Though there is no one central school for witchcraft, there are many ideologies and philosophies that centers in witchcraft. This means there are different magic traditions and philosophies that can help you shape your witchcraft. The most obvious is the Wiccan tradition. There’s also Druidism and Neo-paganism. There are also esoteric and regional witchcraft, such as Fari, Pharmakkos, Santeria, Strengheria, etc., and secular witchcraft, which means unaffiliated with any philosophy, belief system, religion, etc.

Bottom Line

The bottom line is, there are NO spells to become a witch, and there is no instant way to become one. Forget about the broomstick, messy hair, witch hat, and cheesy incantations. Being a witch is something you can learn by practicing it. Also, there are no hard and fast rules in becoming a witch. Each person may travel different paths; it’s a personal journey, a personal and complex practice. Of course, it helps if you practice Wiccan beliefs, and you know the deep knowledge of the natural world, how it relates and connects with the spiritual world, and the different methods of folk magic.

Becoming a witch is a lifelong practice.

Casting a spell is a ritual that focuses powerful energy to an intention to manifest its goal. When it comes to casting love spells, your goal is to send a strong, powerful positive intention to get what you want; which would be the attention and affection of the person you want to fall in love with you. Casting love spell is not difficult, after all, love is already all around us – it waits for us to get it. Here are some examples of love spells that almost immediately works, even before you even finish casting them.

These are simple and basic love spells that don’t require astrological charts or exotic ingredients.

Love Spell of Resilient Prima Facie

Though considered as one of the more complicated spells to cast out there, prima facie love spell is definitely worth the effort.

Things You will Need

A pen

A recycled paper (recycled)

Step 1:

Using the pen, write a poem of praise for the Goddess in the recycled paper. It doesn’t have to be poetic, or good, just write something to praise the Goddess. Also, keep your poem short. It can be a rhyming prayer. Include your feeling s and the things you want and need to have. Feel comfortable with it; let the words flow. At the end of your poem, say you are thankful for Goddess’ generosity.

Step 2:

Fold your paper into half so words will be inside. On the exterior side the paper, draw the triple goddess sign. Again, fold it to hide the symbol on the inside of the fold. On the outside side of the paper, draw the pentacle sign (a circle with a star inside).

Step 3:

On the other side of the paper, write down your name with your birth mark. Keep it in a place and never touch the paper again until your spells comes true.

Note:

If you happen to touch the paper before the spell had been fulfilled, then you need to burn the piece of paper and spread its ashes to the ground, and cast the spell again.

Should you have a change of heart before the spell has come true, cancel the spell by burning the paper, then spread its ashes to the ground.

Spell to Get Love Fast

Things you’ll need:

Vanilla extract (new bottle, choose pure, NOT imitations)

Step 1:

Remove the bottle’s lid and imagine a bright of beam of deep red light shining from your mind, through your eyes and to the bottle, turning the bottle in crimson-red color as well. While you envision the light shining the bottle, chant these words:

“As red as blood flowing through my heart,

Liquid, bring me the love that never part,

Bring it soon, bring it fast,

A love that is strong, a lot that will last!”

Step 2:

Sprinkle a couple of drops in the corners of your bedroom. Then, tighten the lid of the bottle and place the bottle under you mattress. Then, wait for love to arrive.

Parting Tips

Love spells may come with risks. Thus, never use them to simply lure the person you lust, but don’t want to be with. You could be bound to that person through ethereal energies. Thus, be very careful to whom you cast your love spells.
